Our decks are designed by structural engineers who are experts in load bearing, wind uplift and longevity construction issues. Our engineer works directly with each homeowner to predetermine the intended use of the deck and therefore designs a structure required to support your individual and/or family needs and imagination. All Morrison Contractors, Inc. decks are built with pressure treated pine as the supporting framework— which is required by Florida Building Codes. The topside and railing can be constructed using a PVC composite decking like Trex or #1 grade pressure treated pine depending on your personal preferences.
Wood decks can create a distinctive Southern feel and have a normal lifespan of about 10 years. Wood topsides, however, require regular cleaning, sealing and maintenance to keep it functioning well and looking good. Composite decking like Trex, requires no maintenance and lasts for well over 20 years.
