Morrison Dock Construction
Dock building is serious business at Morrison Contractors, Inc.
Morrison Contractors, Inc. specializes in building both residential and commercial projects and has spent 33 years successfully
navigating through the complex building process. Marine dock construction projects involve many diverse and sometimes complicated
issues such as environmental and regulatory guidelines, specific insurance requirements, permitting with special governmental agencies
like DERM and Army Corps of Engineers.
Our dedicated staff of experts file all of the local, county and state permit forms required from commencement to completion of your project.
We compile the multitude of documentation needed—including proof of ownership, all proposed engineering designs and applicable applications like
an updated survey of your property with all of the current dock details. We also schedule and coordinate all inspections throughout the entire process for all of our customers.
If a marine project is undertaken without the necessary permits, the owner may be severely fined and/or forced to remove the structure. At
Morrison Contractors, Inc. your dock is always properly permitted and built by skilled craftsman who keep up with the most recent codes. Additionally,
federal regulation requires that contractors who build over the water obtain Longshore and Harbor Workman’s Insurance to protect the homeowner from
any liability, along with holding a current license and carrying all the necessary state and federal insurance coverage.
Owning a barge and crane makes us uniquely qualified to complete heavy marine construction projects such as: pile driving, concrete panel walls,
concrete boat docks and restoration systems like batter pile driving with new seawall caps. If your dock or seawall requires hurricane approved engineering or
if you live in an area that is affected by King Tides, we have the solutions you need.
Dock Construction and Design
Morrison Contractors, Inc. can construct your new dock from wood, composite material, concrete or any combination of these materials to create the design of your dreams.
Wood docks are built from high grade marine pine lumber or from IPE (also called Brazilian Walnut), which is one of the densest hardwoods available. It is three times harder than
cedar. Please view our dock and deck galleries for design ideas.
A material that has been growing in popularity due to its strength and longevity, especially in severe weather conditions, is composite decking. New technologies in recent years
have resulted in a high-quality product that resists fading, staining, scratching and mold. It won’t rot, crack or warp. It’s also insect-proof and splinter-free, making it safer
and more comfortable for families with kids and pets. Morrison Contractors, Inc. is proud to be a Trex Pro Platinum dealer in the South Florida area.
In addition to the range of decking available, we also have a wide selection of composite accessories such as railings, stairs and gates, or you can create a customized outdoor space
with picnic tables, benches and gazebos. Please call us for samples featuring high-definition wood grain patterns and rich color options—all with a 25-year product warranty!
